Debut single from London based Akira, crazy noise inspired and un-typically hardcore mobsters. Apparently they love the noise music makes which wears well when you hear just how much of the stuff they’re making.
The trio experiment with effects and musical theatrics and produce a sound that’s similar to sitting in the Planetarium, while repeatedly being prodded in the stomach with a sharp stick, you’ll like it but won’t be pain free. ‘Patriot’ relies on distortion forming the atmospherics while the texture of drums and vocals are as delicate as a hyperactive Pavarotti.
Track 2 entitled simply ‘Atom’ is a magnificent attempt at something totally irregular, whilst the guitar effects echo overhead, the dual vocals stream through gently even though sending out a serious statement.
Live recording of ‘Human Animal’ might not be something you’d easily listen to at home but it seems to have been great fun to make.
